Editing Services
EVERYONE needs an editor they can trust., someone who can spot that extra space or missing letter without trying and help keep us from going over a grammatical cliff or sliding down a consistency ravine while preserving our voice and supporting our vision.

I hope I can be that for you.

HOW I WORK:
-
For a copy edit or proofread, you'll send me a ten-page sample from the middle of your late-stage (no first or second drafts) novel manuscript for $20.00, to be paid in advance via PayPal or Venmo.
-
I'll review and mark up a PDF using Adobe Acrobat.
-
I will email you the PDF, along with a short message letting you know how long it took me to review the sample (ten double-spaced pages should take about one hour), as well as an estimate for how long it would take me to complete the entire text based on the sample.
-
If you like the way we work together, I will apply the $20 to your bill, and ask for a deposit of 50% of the estimated total to start the review of your choice.
-
After I finish the job, I will ask for the balance be paid before I email the marked-up PDF back to you.

Copy Edit $35/hour
Also called a line edit. During this review, I will be on the lookout for wonky sentence construction, consistency issues, repetition (eg, pesky word echoes) and other such grammar-related issues.
Proofread $25/hour
The nit-picker review. You've had your line (or copy) edit, and you've polished those descriptions until they sparkle. I will do a close read and make sure everything is good to go.
